Work Requires Work

True. Results are easy to create on paper. Procedure requires discipline. Discipline, and here's where it usually gets messy, requires standard operating steps. I RESIST STEPS! My brain loves to build freely, like when you come upon a 350-word puzzle broken into 350 pieces. The problem with that is obvious. Efficiency requires structure to achieve a Gestalt approach.

Turning 50 is a big one. A metaphorical idiom that easily conveys this trigger for internal panic is crossing the equator. Sailors call it . . .

Crossing the Line

My life had already turned into a self-imposed exile of self-sabotage, but what truly transpired was a complete moral and financial meltdown, resulting in a year of existential self-examination that initially shocked me before a spiritual revival shook me to my core.

Push and Pull

Competing agendas from my past and future, forced me to look into the eye of my present self. I did not like what I saw. For real, I didn't even want to look in the mirror. So I stopped doing it. I despised what I'd become.

Invocation

If Mamba were here physically, and he's here spiritually, no doubt, what would he tell me to do. I heard this.

You've Been Tested . . . For the Last Time

This is what Mamba said, "Don't look up at the mountain you are going to climb. Look up from the bottom of the well. Can you see the opening? That opening is where you start the life you are destined to live. To get up to that opening, you're going to have create a plan. There's no rope, no tools for a ladder. You are going to have to find any loose mortar from the circular wall of that well that you can dig your fingers and toes into. There will be some you can't see. You'll just have to have faith that they are there in the darkness. You'll have to get strong, mentally and physically to be able to climb. No one will be looking down from the opening of that well, rooting you on. There's no rope. NO ONE knows you're down there. Get strong, especially in mind, invoking the stoic philosophy of discipline that has gotten you through horrendous circumstances before. And once your strength is ready, start climbing. Remember, you're going to slip and probably fall to the bottom again, maybe twenty or thirty times. And here's the worst of it. You may not make it to the top. You may starve before doing it because there's no food. You don't need sustenance; you need to be hungry. That hunger will make you stronger, but don't waste time. Time is finite. Let's go."

A Race to the Bottom

I developed a 24-month plan to do the opposite of what lower, remove every asset from my life, burn it all, and if I survived, I would rise from the embers and ashes, reborn with an unbreakable purpose.

Two Sides of the Same

The two most influential voices in my life are Aristotle and Joseph Campbell. Their otherworldly wisdom and commitment to deep insights formed the flesh, bone, and blood that intertwine strategy and story.

Distinct Chatter is my method of scaling a structure. Quest Cinematics is my method of telling long, short, and elemental narratives.

These two ways of developing and designing campaigns and intellectual properties are designed to fuse and complement.

The journey to the results is the game, but the results do matter. Both journey and results teach us that the concept of impermanence applies in all cases. A strategy is always evolving, and a story is never completely told. The result should always be that we create a way forward that can be continually improved upon, should we wish to invest our time and treasure.

Threading the Story Map

Adapting your story map into a content marketing strategy is a crucial first step. If you bunnyhop this stage and then try to back and figure it out, I've found, after bearing witness to this error one too many times, that the impact of the Threading stage is depleted, not unlike bunches of veins and arteries flapping free with no heart to pump the blood through.

We work with your business from the inside to integrate your cross-functional team into our end-to-end impact generator.

Ultimately, we want to be the catalyst for energizing your communication calendar.

The objective is to identify cross-functional gaps that are creating what we refer to as "incremental drag".

, for the purpose of identifying t potential tech stack additions or subtractions.

My purpose is to lead or reinforce the leadership to help the team push through blocks.

As both fixer and developer, we aim to increase the chance of pinning down objectives and nailing key results.

This is not a consultancy. We intend to pay for ourselves by being an interior accelerator. We identify short-term wins to spur long-term gains, while optimizing procedure and campaign maintenance.

Threading a Channel Plan

Metaphors Are Us! Not unlike weaving a tapestry, the threads you develop from the story map are woven into a master channel plan that requires adapting the master plan into campaign kits that are then adapated for each channel in the master plan. Click here to visualize.

Once the human connection is understood, and you have real insights that define your audiences, and with an impermanent practice of "insight gain", we can design your story map and thread your message arcs.
